Che Underground Midnight Masque 2022 detail

Mark ye well: A neat two years since “A Che Underground Leap Night Showcase,” the tribes will gather again in February 2022 for an effervescent weekend of mirth and music.

“A Che Underground Midwinter Masque,” Feb. 18 and Feb. 19 at The Casbah San Diego, will feature legends of the San Diego scene and beyond.

Fancy dress is highly encouraged but not required. (Stay tuned for costume contest details.)

And check out this boffo lineup (with more names to come)!

Friday, Feb. 18

The Nashville Ramblers. The legendary partnership of Carl Rusk, Ron Silva and Tom Ward will top the bill Friday night.

The Nephews. A San Diego staple since 1983, The Nephews feature Charlie Brownell, Tim Ellison and Colin Watson.

The Secret Squares. Formerly known as The Wrecktangle, this band includes Ray Brandes, Cindy Lee Berryhill, Dave Doyle, Joel Kmak and Kevin Ring — a veritable Justice League of musical talent.

Saturday, Feb. 19

The Loons. Founded by legendary Ugly Thing Mike Stax, the Loons feature Chris Cancelliere, Chris Marsteller, Marc Schroeder and Anja Stax.

The Unclaimed. Founded in 1979, Shelley Ganz‘s garage-rock strike force includes Shaun Bryant, Patrick Cleary and John Worley.

Trio Los Elotes. This combo featuring Tom Ward, Christopher Soltero and Johnny McCree blends Western and Ranchero numbers into a zesty melange.

The Goldfingers. The brainchild of Wallflowers singer Dave Rinck will feature a cornucopia of fuzzy warbles from a rogue’s gallery of co-conspirators, including Eric Bacher, Dave Doyle, Craig Packham and Sue Delguidice.

This Everlasting Gobstopper of entertainment is yours for the low price of $20 per night/$35 for a two-night pass! (Tickets are available now from the Casbah site.)
