Che Underground’s third birthday

How much is that in blog years? Today marks three solar orbits since we launched Che Underground: The Blog and another opportunity to take stock of the ground we’ve covered in the interim.

We’ve grown a lot in the past year. Just in time for our second birthday, we broke a traffic record with 9,000 unique visitors in January 2010. This year, we came close to doubling that number; January 2011 was another record-breaker, with more than 16,000 visitors.

Meanwhile, we’ve seen old friends reunite and (perhaps even more interesting) launch new collaborations, including the Fairmounts, Eris Sisters, the DaveFest Four, hING and many more.

People are making music and art together who hadn’t been in touch for decades, and it’s a thrill to watch all this creative ferment. Here’s hoping the blog’s fourth birthday will be another opportunity to look back at a year of creative triumphs!

  1. Congratulations, Matthew! You really created something great here… and it’s proved to be a bigger success than you probably thought it would be. 16,000 visitors in a month… wow.

  2. In the words of one hot American blonde; who was the femme fatale for many a man:

    “Happy Birthday to_you_________!Happy Birthday to_you_________!
Happy Birthday, Mr. Che Underground Life-blood & Editor!
    Happy Birthday to_you_________!”

I changed the words a bit, but it only seems fitting for the ocassion!

And thanks for mentioning Eris Sisters-my electronic/pop duo with “Mancalled Clay”. Our debut Cd ‘downhear’ has arrived, and our music and videos can be previewed from the ‘ERIS SISTERS’ page on facebook. We won’t forget to mention you & The Che Underground in our press roll-out, commencing later this month!

    It’s all about da muzak!
