Going into the final stretch before next Saturday’s Che Underground showcase at the Casbah, here’s a handsome commemorative flyer created by David Klowden, suitable for framing or Scotch taping!
The roster of special guests is growing, as San Diego music history is revisited and made on Saturday night.
To recap the lineup so far:
- Alt-country pioneers the Town Criers (Ray Brandes, David Klowden, Peter Miesner and Mark Zadarnowski) will mark their 20-year reunion.
- The Unknowns — guitarist Mark Neill, bassist Dave Doyle and drummer Craig Packham — will make their first live performance in more than five years.
- San Diego legends Manual Scan (Bart Mendoza, Kevin Donaker-Ring, Tim Blankenship and Morgan Young) will appear onstage for the first time since the Che Games for May gig last spring.
- International Che Underground supergroup the Blues Gangsters (Kristi Maddocks, Dave Rinck, Dave Ellison, Dave Fleminger and Matt Johnson) will make their live debut.
- Your DJ will be Louis Mello, a k a DJ Dirty Bird.

There will be plenty of surprises, and guests flying in from all over the world for the show. There is one guest coming from as far as 9695 miles away, and another from 5311 miles away . . .
My regrets- ~3000 miles + a 3 month old put this great show out of reach for me. Hopefully I’ll make the next event. Have a great time everybody!
