(If you missed the opening festivities July 30 at the Che Underground Rock-‘n’-Roll Weekend, Dave Doyle invites you to join him and fellow photographer Sean McMullen for the closing of their joint show. Event photography by Kymri Wilt.)
As is often said, all good things must come to an end, and art exhibits are no exception. So in celebration of our first exhibition together, Sean and I thought it would be fun to close it with another party.
We will be hosting a simple reception at Lestat’s Coffee House on August 28 around 7:30. Then afterwards any willing adults are welcome to the Ould Sod for drinks, merriment and pontification on all things art, politics or whatnot. Lestat’s is child friendly, so feel free to bring your offspring or someone else’s.
To their credit, Lestat’s has been a very encouraging environment to host our work as well as working with us on all the little details in a positive way. This was the first time I’ve put on my photos display for the sake of the image itself, and it’s been a good learning experience for me, I’m glad I pushed myself to see this through and having a commensurate photog hang his work along side yours is both daunting and compelling.

Sean has been a great partner in this process as well as a supportive artist to work with; he is a wealth of knowledge. It was wonderful to see the fruits of our collective labors hanging on the wall that afternoon before the show. We both plan on more adventures in exhibiting out work together and separately at some point in the future.
Lastly, I’d like to thank John Husler at Lestat’s for his magnanimity; Tom, Mike, Mark and Sandy at D1 Color for their hard work in getting out our prints; and Ann Kopels for inciting us to go ahead with this project in the first place.

You mean all we need to do is come by on the 28th, and we’ll see all those photos AND meet Shaun and Dave?
